As a student at Ventura College, this catalog contains a wealth of knowledge and serves as an important guide for your academic journey, options on your path to graduation, and information about your classes, major and campus policies. I encourage you to become familiar with the catalog to understand academic requirements, which will get you closer to graduation. Additionally, our counselors, faculty and others at VC are available to you for assistance and guidance. We are all here to help you and are committed to your progress and success.

Ventura College offers an array of options for students to pursue an Associate degree, complete certificates, and/or upskill your career. In addition, I encourage you to make the most of your college experience by getting involved at VC through clubs, student government, athletics, performance productions, and other activities.

At Ventura College, we strive to create an environment where students can inspire themselves, realize their potential, and become the leaders we need. VC provides a range of programs for our diverse student population to enable university transfer and job preparedness by providing flexible day and evening class schedules, online courses, and additional programs on our Ventura College East Campus in Santa Paula, CA. At VC, we know our students’ academic journeys are not always easy. As such, the college also offers tutoring, financial, academic, and health support services to help eliminate barriers to boost your college success.

Ventura College is proud to offer a promise program to help students attend college for free. The VC Promise is a program that waives tuition fees for qualified first-time, full-time community college students who can now attend two consecutive school years at Ventura College tuition-free. Ventura College set the standard statewide as VC Promise Program originating with the support of the Ventura College Foundation success was referenced in State Assembly Bill 19 that was signed into law in 2017. This statewide initiative combined with the support of the VC Foundation will be able to cover the tuition and other fees for many students that meet eligibility requirements for their first and second year at VC.

We are proud of the many connections we share with local industry, government, and educational partners in Ventura County and beyond. These partnerships help create both unique opportunities for the college and pathways for our students into transfer universities, as well as employment. Additionally, we have transfer agreements with all California State Universities, University of California, and many private higher- education institutions to facilitate access into baccalaureate programs.

Thank you for choosing Ventura College as your partner in your educational journey. #PiratePride

Sincerely,

Kim Hoffmans
