To earn an Associate in Science Degree with a major in Chemistry, students complete 20 specified units, plus General Education Degree Requirements. These major requirements optimize preparation for upper division course work for advanced degrees in Chemistry offered by four-year institutions. - demonstrate a mastery of organic chemistry material at a level equal to or greater than the national average as determined by the nationally standardized Organic Chemistry exam developed by the American Chemical Society (ACS) at the completion of the capstone class CHEM M07B Organic Chemistry II.
