Automotive Air Conditioning Service, Certificate of Achievement
The Certificate of Achievement in Automotive Air Conditioning Service prepares students for entry-level employment in automotive air conditioning repair or as preparation for master technician status. Students will gain valuable hands-on experience in servicing, repair and diagnosis of automotive air conditioning systems. The Refrigerant Handlers Certification Examination given by International Mobile Air Conditioning Society (IMAC) is included in this training. The use of precision equipment and specialty tools is emphasized. Students are encouraged to take the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Exam for Heating and Air Conditioning (A7). The curriculum of the program is NATEF approved.

Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:
- Apply automotive heating and air conditioning systems theories of operation to practical diagnostic scenarios encountered during automotive heating and air conditioning service repairs.
- Demonstrate the proper set up and operation of automotive air conditioning systems refrigerant identification, recovery and recharging equipment.
- Practice skill necessary to obtain the United States Clean Air Act Section 609 Certification through examination from the International Mobile Air Conditioning Society (IMAC).
- Diagnose and repair or replace HVAC systems and components.
- Comply with personal and environmental safety practices in accordance with applicable safety and environmental regulations.
- Integrate and analyze online service data, written repair material and technical service bulletins to repair and service a vehicle.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the use of specialized automotive service tools, electronic diagnostic equipment and basic hand tools.
- Demonstrate the use and care of basic automotive tools and equipment.
