About the Certificate of Completion

A Certificate of Completion is is a noncredit certificate awarded to students who have satisfactorily completed a sequence of noncredit courses designed to improve employability or job opportunities.

No unit credit is awarded for courses completed as part of a Certificate of Completion. These courses are offered free of charge, with the exception of required textbooks and other instructional materials, if applicable.

Requirements for the Certificate of Completion

To earn a Certificate of Completion, a student must:

  1. Complete all applicable noncredit major coursework as prescribed in the District College catalog with a passing grade of "C" or better or "P" in each course.
  2. Complete a minimum number of required hours, as prescribed in the catalog of the District College granting the Certificate of Completion.
  3. There is no residency requirement for Certificates of Completion. 
  4. Apply for the noncredit certificate through the appropriate college office granting the certificate.
