Steps to Transfer

  1. Attend Transfer 101 and Major Selection Workshops coordinated by the Career and Transfer Center.
  2. Choose one or several university transfer destinations and possible majors.
  3. Go to the assist.org and print the articulation agreements that exist between Moorpark College and CSU or UC in your chosen major.
  4. Make an appointment to meet with a counselor to create a transfer plan. For General Education: CSU GE-Breadth, IGETC, or Campus-specific GE (Get CSU GE-Breadth or IGETC Certified (if applicable). For Major Preparation: use ASSIST and/or follow an ADT (refer to ASSIST to guide your choices).
  5. Basic Admission Requirements:
    1. Units
    2. Grade Point Average (GPA)
    3. English Composition, Oral Communication (CSU only), Critical Thinking, and Math
  6. Supplemental Admission Criteria, if applicable. Ask about Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) agreements and attend a TAG Workshop.
  7. Apply to the selected institutions by their deadlines.
  8. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and the California Dream Act Application after October 1st and prior to March 2nd be considered for the Cal Grant.
  9. Receive acceptance letters & send in SIR (Student Intent to Register) and necessary deposits.
  10. Get CSU GE-Breadth/IGETC Certification and Send Final Official Transcripts.
