Diesel Engine Repair, Certificate of Achievement
The Certificate of Achievement in Diesel Engine Repair at Ventura College is designed to prepare students for employment in the diesel engine repair workforce. Students will be taught the advanced knowledge and high technology skills that will prepare them for a career as a diesel technician in the 21st century. The program curriculum incorporates lecture and laboratory activities.
The main competencies that students completing the Certificate of Achievement in Diesel Engine Repair will have achieved are: maintenance and inspection of heavy-duty vehicles; repair of diesel engines; technical, operational, and diagnostic skills of diesel electrical systems; operation of power train units; inspection and adjustment of steering suspension systems; brake systems service; and diagnosis of fuel system faults.
The Certificate of Achievement in Diesel Engine Repair prepares students for careers as diesel engine technicians, fleet engine technicians, truck mechanics, transportation mechanics, transit mechanics, service technicians, mechanics, bus engine repair technicians, and agricultural equipment engine repair technicians.
