Pre-Health Professions, Associate in Science
Pre-Health Professions, Associate in Science
The Associate in Science in Pre-Health Professions degree prepares students for further study in a variety of health professions. While designed for programs offered within the Ventura County Community College District, including, dental hygiene, nursing, and radiologic technology, completion of this major may prepare students for transfer into other two and four year health professions programs. These include, but are not limited to nursing, radiologic technology, physician’s assistant, respiratory technology, sonography, nuclear medicine, pharmacy, clinical laboratory assistant, occupational therapy, veterinary technology, and other related fields. Students completing the program will obtain classroom and hands-on laboratory experience needed in the sciences and required general education courses required to complete Associate degrees or prepare for transfer. Admission requirements vary by program and by college or university; therefore, it is recommended that students work with a Counselor when selecting courses.
