Family Child Care Teaching, Certificate of Achievement
The Family Child Care Teaching, Certificate of Achievement (COA) is intended to provide foundational skills in child development knowledge, behavior management, curriculum planning applicable to children from birth to 6th grade, and small business education to successfully run a small business. Students who complete this certificate will be prepared for careers in early childhood education.

Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:
- Discuss and apply skills needed in intentional teaching, curriculum planning, and environmental design consistent with developmentally appropriate practices across all domains of development and including knowledge about typical and atypical development birth to 6th grade.
- Begin to apply best practices for running a small business.
- Demonstrate knowledge of licensing laws governing administration of child care programs.
- Apply professional and ethical standards of behavior in the college classroom and workplace with children, families, colleagues, and coworkers.
